Brewery Tour

A brewery tour
of the special kind

The Löwenbräu brewery tour is great

Loewenbraeu Brauerei

As a test subject I went through the whole process once and didn't want to keep to myself what a great afternoon awaits you. First of all, it has to be said that the two main players, i.e. the Löwenbräukeller and the Löwenbräu brewery, are not far apart. I got off at Stiglmaierplatz directly in front of the Löwenbräukeller. From there it was about a 3 minute walk to the brewery. When I got there, I was warmly welcomed and I was allowed to join another group that was about to start their tour.

The welcome took place in the brewery's film screening room, where we also watched an informative image film afterwards. The tour of the brewery then began. In detail, this means visiting the brewhouse, the fermentation and storage tanks, the museum cellar, the bottling plant and a few other intermediate stations. I found the explanation of how long the beer stays in the brewhouse particularly exciting. In general, one can say that every beer lover gets their money's worth here. It was also funny how the employees used to get by without technology. All such information and much more is available in the museum cellar.

The Löwenbräu bottling plant

You think you've seen it often on Galileo or elsewhere on television. But in truth it is always interesting how the automatic processes work. The amount of bottles that go through here is really unique. I was particularly fascinated by the rinsing function and the precision with which the bottlenecks and heads are cleaned. In order not to give away all the stations around the brewery tour and to reveal the information I received, I will stop at this point and concentrate on the tasting.

Offt to the Löwenbräukeller

After the approx. two-hour tour of the brewery, the tour guide took us to the Löwenbräukeller. There he entrusted us to the restaurant manager and he brought us directly to the table. In the meantime, I've gotten along quite well with the members of the other group (a craftsmen's guild from North Rhine-Westphalia, greetings at this point). The beer was freshly tapped from the barrel and served slightly frothy. The taste is quite different after such a brewery tour. The rest of the evening the beers were diligently tested and the live music was accompanied by drinking, laughing and excellent food. By the way, there is live music every day in the Löwenbräukeller.

The 3-course menu included sumptuous snack boards for everyone as a starter on our evening. For the main course, a crispy half knuckle of pork with a potato dumpling and a good sauce. For dessert there was Kaiserschmarrn with roasted plums. The service was quick and friendly and in general, the atmosphere was very exuberant. But that's not surprising after you've had a great tour of the brewery in a convivial beer mood.

My conclusion:

loewenbraeu produkte

I can only recommend it! Only the minimum number of people starts at 20 people. It would be nice if this could work for 10 or more people. Otherwise, I had a super great afternoon that went on for quite a while into the evening. And if I ever need a handyman in NRW, you can be sure that I will get one ;)

I had a lot of fun & I hope that you enjoy your Löwenbräu brewery tour and subsequent visit to the Löwenbräukeller just as much.
